Bullying is still a huge problem in today’s society. Especially on social media. Bullying is always talked about a little at schools but not as much as it should be. Schools need to talk about bullying year round, because bullying doesn’t only happen in school, it also happens on social media. Bullying is more effective on social media because once something is posted it never goes away. Everyone that goes to school has some kind of social media account, and once something is posted everyone see’s it, especially when someone retweets it, reposts it, or screen shots it.

 

People need to speak up when they witness bullying. You shouldn’t be afraid to “snitch” because you can save someone’s life. Bullying is one of the biggest reasons teens commit suicide or attempt it. In today’s society when someone sees cuts on someone’s arms they automatically think the person is just weird or gothic and don’t even try understand why, or they make the problem worse and make fun of them. When you see things like cuts on someone’s arms you need to speak up.

 

To prevent bullying people can start putting away differences like race, skin color, religion or what you look like. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Get to know someone before you judge them. If someone is bullying another person you could tell them to stop and stand up for whoever is getting bullied. Tell a teacher if you are getting bullied or see someone getting bullied.
